EXPERT AIRCRAFT ACQUISITION AND SALE

YOUR SITUATION: You are preparing to buy an aircraft, but there is a lot of information that you are missing to make sure that you get the right aircraft, and at the right price. Is there a good solution?

Yes. And this is important. Buying an airplane is easy. Making sure that you get a good one and that it is safe and will hold its value is not. We are not aircraft brokers and we do not work on any kind of a sales commission. We work exclusively for you the buyer. If you prefer, we can recommend a good aircraft broker that will complete the sales process for you. If you would like for us to help, we will always let you know exactly how much this service will cost, and we will put this in writing for your review. We can help you complete as much of the aircraft acquisition process as you would like. It all starts with your preferences, your budget, your experience, and how you would like to use the aircraft. Based on these four factors, we can quickly narrow, define, and refine the market for you. We can locate prospective aircraft, inspect, evaluate, and appraise almost any candidate aircraft that meets with your approval. All inspections include a thorough review of logbooks, records, AD’s, service bulletins, and aircraft history. We make our overall assessment and recommendation to you not just based on the actual market conditions, but also on the safety and the overall “fit” of the prospective aircraft to your level of experience and type flying. We want to help you make every effort to be sure that you are not getting a defective aircraft. But we also want to help you make sure that you are not paying too much for it, that you will be able to sell it when the time comes, and that you will be safe flying in it when you finally get it.

If you prefer, we can also negotiate this transaction with the seller on your behalf. In addition to the appraisal and evaluation, we can also perform an acceptance flight, ferry the aircraft, and deliver the aircraft to your airport if required. We have all of the required documentation and paperwork, and we can make sure that the transfer of ownership and the registration is handled properly and without error.

After your new airplane arrives, there may be some pilot training situations that need solutions. We are able to accomplish almost any insurance or FAA required training and include this training in the initial acquisition cost if required. For Insurance required Training, just select our TRAINING folder located to the left.

YOUR SITUATION: You need to sell an aircraft, but there is a lot of information that you are missing to make sure that you get the most for your aircraft, and that you make all required disclosures to any prospective buyer before it is sold. Is there a good solution?

Yes. We can help you prepare your aircraft for sale, and we can help you sell it yourself. We are not aircraft brokers and we do not work on any kind of a sales commission. We work exclusively for you the seller. If you prefer, we can recommend a good aircraft broker that will complete the sale process for you.

There are lots of free resources that are available to you to get the most market exposure in the sales process. There are also several resources that are available that are very inexpensive, and well worth the listing. There are also some sales tax, personal property tax, and income tax situations that you need to be aware of before you sell. If you are interested, Please see our EXPERT FINANCIAL section listed below.

EXPERT OPINION

YOUR SITUATION: You have been involved in an aircraft accident or incident, or you need to speak confidentially with an aviation expert regarding a highly delicate situation in order to obtain an unbiased opinion for your situation. Is there a good solution?

Yes. We can help in a lot of different areas. But first, make sure that you have fully complied with all state and local laws concerning the notification of aircraft accidents and/or incidents if you are involved. Next, make sure that you have complied with FAR 830 that specifies and defines the reporting of aircraft accidents and incidents. The Aeronautical information manual also includes a verbal description of this process in AIM 7-6-2 You need to make sure that you have complied with all of these requirements.

Next, if there has been an accident or an incident, we can conduct an independent investigation. We utilize and work with other industry experts. We analyze all available data. If necessary, we can travel to a specific site to do further research. In the end, we will prepare a formal written opinion that represents our full and complete assessment of the specific situation, based on the information we have at the time. Our assessment will most likely include an expert opinion concerning the probable cause. This opinion may or may not differ from the NTSB probable cause finding. This written opinion and the testimony of the expert that prepared it can be made available for court proceedings where an expert opinion may often help decide the outcome of the case. This is not to be confused with specific legal counsel. AV NET is comprised of expert aviators, not attorneys. If it is determined that you need legal counsel, we can help put you in touch with the individual or organization that is right for your situation.

YOUR SITUATION: You have been involved in a situation that could possibly result in an FAA violation, certificate action, or you feel that you may need to speak confidentially with an aviation expert regarding a highly delicate situation in order to obtain an unbiased opinion for your situation. Is there a good solution?

Maybe! Depending on the specifics of the situation, there may not always be a good solution. In any case, you need to try to find the best solution that is possible, given the circumstances and the existing situation. We are not attorneys. We are aviators that offer our services as consultants and there is a big difference. We can help you more clearly understand the way the FAA operates, investigates, and prosecutes. You will eventually most likely need to retain the services of a qualified aviation attorney that is capable of actually handling the representation of your case if that in fact becomes necessary. If required, we can help you find the best aviation attorney for you and your situation. But before you do that, STOP. We strongly recommend that you not provide any statement either formally or informally, verbally or in writing, to any individual or agency whatsoever until you consult an independent and impartial expert and obtain an opinion and a recommendation concerning your situation. An aviation attorney is qualified and capable of filing all required paperwork and representing you. They are not normally aviators that are skilled in initial situation analysis and proper strategic planning. An early, thorough, and comprehensive review of your situation and a formulation of a defense strategy is relatively inexpensive and could mean all the difference in the end. You should do this as soon as possible. We offer a comprehensive review of the specifics of your situation, and a recommendation of the best way for you to proceed. Getting expert consulting early in this potentially devastating situation is paramount. Just go to 7700! page and complete the attached form.

EXPERT FINANCIAL

YOUR SITUATION: You have a specific situation regarding the tax or financial implications involving you or your aircraft. Is there a good solution?

Yes. And you may eventually need to retain the services of a qualified aviation CPA, tax accountant, or certified financial advisor that is capable of actually handling the financial decisions that you make. And we can help you find one that is best for you and your situation. But before you do that, you may also desire to speak with an expert concerning possible financial strategies for your particular financial situation. It may be possible for you to legally deduct part or all of the cost of owning and operating your aircraft for business use. We can help you understand how aircraft depreciation works, accelerated depreciation, the new liberty zone depreciation schedules, and other key tax situations. Even if you do not use your aircraft for any business use, you are entitled to claim deductions for the use of that aircraft in certain situations. We can also help you understand IRS form 8283, non cash charitable contributions, other donation deductions and benefits, IRS deductions, ways to start a business for yourself, and the tax advantages of owning your own aviation LLC, LLP, or Corporation.

EXPERT INSPECTION AND REVIEW

YOUR SITUATION: You have questions regarding the operation of your company, your operation, or your flight department. You need to know if your operation could be safer, or if there are any important issues, policies, or regulations that you may be overlooking. You would like to know if your policies and procedures are appropriate to your specific operation. Most of all, you would like an independent and impartial assessment that can evaluate your situation and offer any recommendations that may be wise to implement. You would like to make sure that “management oversight” is not listed as one of the causual factors in the final NTSB report if there ever is an accident, incident, or a loss at your company or organization. Is there a good solution?

Yes. We are able to travel to your location and perform a private independent inspection and review. There may be a situation involving one or more issues or policies that you as an owner or member of management does not know about. Some of these issues include, but are not limited to aviation operations policies and procedures, flight department personnel, maintenance, scheduling, flight planning, crew fatigue, crew rest, compensation, management oversight, job and job descriptions, crew pairings, in flight crew briefings, upgrade procedures, navigation charts, approach planning, use of aircraft automation, CRM, event management, abnormal, emergency, and evacuation planning and procedures, Terrain, FAR part 23 and 25, TERPS, takeoff segments, Obstacle departure procedures, etc.

We are able to conduct an independent assessment based on your requirements. We will always offer to provide the results of our assessment in the form of a formal written report. Our report always contains a statement of conditions as we view them, as well as a recommendation for improvement in any area that may be deficient or below standard. We will also always offer to provide the results of our assessment in the form of a formal written assessment and recommendation. If desired, we are able to review the results of our detailed findings in person and without the inclusion of a written report. Our company policy dictates that we do not keep any written notes, records, or data of any kind from any client that has subscribed to our expert inspection and review services.
